A ministerial delegation led by Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Anne-Mari Virolainen and 17 Finnish companies present their innovative and intelligent health solutions and technologies to the Danish health care and hospital sector in Copenhagen and Odense on September 4th - 6th.
The visit aims to strengthen and expand the already strong cooperation between Denmark and Finland and to showcase the latest Finnish healthcare services and technologies. The programme includes, several hospital visits, visit to Danish health sector innovation centers, a networking event in Odense and a Business Roundtable with DI in Copenhagen, in addition meetings with health care sector stakeholders.
“Denmark is a front-runner in welfare and heavily investing in new hospitals and rethinking health care delivery. In addition, both Finland and Denmark run world-class health care systems and rank high on innovation. Thus, it is extremely interesting to engage in dialogue on how Denmark is preparing for the future health care needs. I believe that this visit strengthens the already good cooperation between Danish and Finnish businesses in the health sector”, says Anne-Mari Virolainen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development.
A majority of the companies partaking the visit are already present on the Danish market. Medixine, a company that offers tools for patients’ active participation in the prevention and care processes, is part of a large-scale delivery by Systematic to Region South Denmark. 22.000 health care professionals in the region will start using Systematic’s electronic health record, Columna. The delivery will include a patient portal based on Medixine Suite solution with secure messaging, questionnaires and health coaching among others. “This regional implementation demonstrates the scalability and flexibility of our solution”, says Dr. Tapio Jokinen, CEO of Medixine.
Another company that has already invested in Denmark is Innofactor, a leading Nordic provider of digitalization and cloud solutions. Innofactor offers patient engagement, remote visit, case management, and quality management systems. The Innolog log monitoring system that helps to guard privacy of citizen data is in wide use in the Danish healthcare sector.
An example of a highly successful and award-winning e-health platform by Innofactor in use in Finland is Health Village. The platform has been built in cooperation with five Finnish university hospitals. Health Village provides information and support to all parties concerned: medical care for patients and tools for healthcare professionals. The technological platform for the digital service will become available throughout the Nordic region.
Finland is a small giant in export of health tech. The sector is one of the fastest growing at the moment. The delegation consists of 17 Finnish companies from digital health and connected care solutions, to pharmacy robotics, antibacterial furniture, operation room equipment, sensor systems and analytic services.
